Cannot See Other Computers on Your Network in Windows 10/8/7

If you’re trying to share files between PCs on a local network, but you just can’t make a connection, it could point to a problem with your network configuration. You may be connected to your network, but accessing other PCs and devices on your network might be blocked.
This is often due to incorrect settings on your device or a broken network connection. Thankfully, it’s usually an easy process to fix if you can’t see other computers on a network. Windows PCs all suffer from this problem from time to time, but here are some quick fixes you can use to resolve the problem.
Method 1. Turn on network discovery
[NOTE: It is recommended, that you should change this setting when you are on ‘Private’ network only]
1. Press Windows key+R to launch Run window, and copy–paste  this command and hit Enter.
control.exe /name Microsoft.NetworkAndSharingCenter

2. Now, on the left side click on Change Advanced sharing. It will open Advanced sharing settings window.
3. Now, in this window click on Turn on network discovery and then click on Turn on file and printer sharingAfter this, click on Save changesClick on YES if you are prompted for permission by User Account Control.
Once done, close Control Panel window.
Check if you are able to see any other computers on your network.

Method 2. Check if necessary services are running
1. To open Services utility, click on Search box and type services and then click on Services in the elevated search result window.
2. In Services window, scroll down and double click on Function Discovery Provider Host.
3. In Properties window, click on Startup type. and set it to Automatic. Now, click on Start to start the service on your computer. Click on Apply and then click on OK sequentially to save the changes on your computer.
4. Again in the services window, double click on Function Discovery Resource Publication.
5. In Properties window, set the Startup type: to Automatic from the drop-down. Then, check if the Service Status: is shown as Running. If it is Stopped, then click on StartFinally, click on Apply and OK sequentially to save the changes on your computer.
6. Now, in Services window, double click on SSDP Discovery service on your computer.
7. In Properties window, click on Startup type: and set it to AutomaticCheck the Service status: is set to Running. Otherwise, click on Start to start the service on your computer. Click on Apply and then click on OK sequentially to save the changes on your computer.
8. To edit the properties of the third service, scroll down and double click on UPnP Device Host service.
9. In Properties window, set the Startup type: to Automatic from the drop-down.Then, check if the Service Status: is shown as Running. If it is Stopped, then click on Start. Finally, click on Apply and OK sequentially to save the changes on your computer.
10. Now, double click on Server service
11. In Server properties window, set the Startup type: to Automatic from the drop-down. Click on Apply and OK to save the changes on your computer.
Close Services window on your computer. Check if you can detect other computers in your network.
Method 3. Check necessary features are ON
1. Press Windows key+ R to open Run window. In Run window, type optionalfeatures and then hit Enter.
2. In Windows Features window, scroll down and make sure SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support is checked. Click on OK.
Wait for a while as Windows will make these changes on your computer.
4. Click on Restart now to restart your computer in order to save the changes.
After restarting your computer check if you can detect other computers on your computer to not.
